We love helping businesses solve problems. In this case, we were called in to Edson Farms Market and Deli in Traverse City, Michigan. They have a beautiful store with a lot of windows that make it feel open and airy. The issue was that these same windows could allow areas of the store to get too hot and merchandise to fade. They needed a solution that could control excessive heat and help prevent fading while not changing the look or open feel of the store.
After consultation, we chose a ceramic window film called VS70 to address the problem. This film is so light that it is virtually invisible on the glass. This checked off the box that they did not want to change the appearance of the store. The good news is that this virtually invisible film still blocks 55% of heat transmission through the glass and 99% of the UV rays. This combination will enable them to keep the store at a comfortable temperature and protect merchandise from premature fading if placed near a window. It also may enable them to save money on their utility costs as the HVAC system will not need to work as hard in the Summer to keep the store comfortable.
Check out these pictures below to see this invisible protection in action.
